Full On Lighting was started with a unique foundation built upon decades of experience in the world of commercial outdoor lighting, combined with a lifelong love of riding. Our core mission is straightforward: to make riding more fun for everyone. This simple statement underscores a deep commitment to performance, reliability, and a user-centric design philosophy honed through years of tackling complex and critical lighting challenges for a diverse range of clients and applications.

Our journey began at a leading commercial solar power and LED lighting company during the early days of these technologies. This early involvement provided invaluable insights into the core principles of efficient and reliable lighting systems. Driven by a desire to push boundaries, to innovate, and to test our own ideas, we recognized an opportunity to bring our expertise to new applications. This inherent drive for improvement and a commitment to creating better solutions are central to our DNA. The benefits of this background extend to a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and the entire product lifecycle. In addition to many years of product design and embedded system engineering, the team has experience in sales engineering – understanding the specific requirements and pain points of diverse clients – and product management – overseeing the design, development, and delivery of products that meet those needs – equips us with a holistic perspective. This ensures that our lights are not just technically proficient but are also designed with a focus on the simplicity of the user's experience and real-world demands in mind. Our experience with complex commercial projects has instilled a deep appreciation for system integration, ensuring that all components of our bike lights work seamlessly together to deliver optimal performance and reliability.

The journey of Full On Lighting is not a sudden venture into the realm of bike lights. It represents a focused application of extensive knowledge cultivated within the commercial outdoor lighting sector. Our more than five decades of collective experience has been deeply rooted in all aspects of the commercial outdoor lighting  and solar lighting industries.  Our history isn't confined to theoretical knowledge; it's grounded in the practical application of lighting solutions for real-world scenarios, including demanding infrastructure projects and large-scale commercial installations.  Our previous work resulted in building North America's largest solar lighting company, while winning product design and business growth awards; including being one of Canada's fastest growing companies for 7 consecutive years.  This background provides a unique lens through which we approach the building of our business, the support of our customers and the design and development of our bike lights, bringing a level of rigor and expertise unique in this market.

The world of commercial outdoor lighting operates under demanding performance and reliability standards where failure is not an option. These aren't just guidelines; they are critical requirements for ensuring safety, security, and operational continuity in diverse and often challenging environments. We have navigated this demanding landscape for years, internalizing the importance of every facet of lighting performance. Durability and weather resistance are paramount. Commercial exterior lighting fixtures must endure a wide spectrum of environmental conditions, from torrential rain and heavy snowfall to scorching summer heat and freezing winter temperatures. These lights are often exposed to constant wind, dust, and even corrosive elements, demanding robust construction and materials that can withstand prolonged exposure without degradation. Lights installed in public spaces are also subject to punishment via vandalism.  Dependable light output is another non-negotiable standard. Whether illuminating roadways for safe navigation or providing security lighting for critical infrastructure, the light level must be reliable over extended periods. Unexpected failures can compromise safety and security, leading to significant consequences.

Energy efficiency has also become a crucial aspect of modern commercial lighting. The industry has widely embraced LED technology as the answer to the challenges of energy consumption, lifespan, and light quality. This transition reflects a commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness, principles that we carry into our bike light designs. Safety certifications such as UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and IP (Ingress Protection) ratings are also fundamental in the commercial sector. These certifications provide assurance through rigorous third-party testing, validating that the products meet established safety and performance benchmarks related to electrical safety, protection against environmental elements like dust and water, and overall operational reliability. We understand the importance of these standards and the peace of mind they provide to clients. Commercial lighting installations often involve a large number of fixtures in hard-to-reach locations, making frequent replacements and maintenance costly and disruptive. Well implemented LED technology can reach 100,000+ hours of operation, directly addressing this need, offering extended service life and reducing the burden of upkeep. Optical design to optimize lighting performance in accordance with recommended practice is also critical to ensuring lighting goals are met while reducing overall project costs and improving the visual comfort and safety of users.   These demanding standards of the commercial lighting industry are not merely abstract concepts for us; they are deeply ingrained principles that guide our entire approach to lighting design and manufacturing, setting a high bar for the quality and reliability of our bike lights.

The experience that has fueled our entry into the bike market is not just about understanding lumens and battery life; it's about a deeply ingrained history of innovation and a fundamental understanding of what it takes to create high-performance lighting solutions that endure.

We understand that good products are only part of the equation. Providing outstanding support and service is equally critical, especially when serving demanding clients in the commercial sector. City lighting projects, for instance, involve a multi-stage process requiring thorough planning, approvals, installations inspections, and ongoing maintenance, highlighting the need for consistent and reliable support. Serving organizations like cities, NASA, global hotel chains and all branches of the US military demands a commitment to reliability, responsiveness, and a solid understanding of their unique operational requirements. These clients rely on lighting for safety, security, and mission-critical tasks, and they expect a high level of service and support. Our experience in this demanding arena has instilled a culture of prioritizing customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships based on trust and dependability. This commitment extends to the bike lighting market. While Full On is still a young company, our foundation in serving demanding commercial clients underscores our understanding of the importance of providing excellent customer service. This experience translates to a dedication to supporting our customers with the same level of commitment and responsiveness.  We have your back!

Our core expertise remains firmly rooted in decades of designing, building, and selling high-performance lighting products for critical applications. Our purpose is to help people work and play better in the dark, and we are committed to bringing the same level of quality and performance that commercial clients have come to expect to the world of personal lighting. This commitment is about engineering reliable, durable, and user-focused lights that enhance the riding experience. Just as we have supported demanding commercial clients for years, Full On is dedicated to providing fantastic customer service to the cycling community. Our experience has taught us the importance of understanding customer needs, providing timely support, and standing behind our products.
